In-Person Appointments
Schedule an appointment for in-person service with our IRS-certified volunteer tax preparers at United Way of Southern Maine’s Portland office by clicking here OR by calling 207-347-2335 and leaving a message with your name and phone number.

Fully Virtual GetYourRefund Service
Visit the GetYourRefund website to answer intake questions and upload your identification and tax documents into our virtual system. You'll then receive two phone calls with our IRS-certified volunteer tax preparers as they prepare and double-check your return from their home or workplace. Before we e-file your return, you will need to review and sign off on it (digitally or by visiting a Scan & Go site). 

Scan & Go Service
Visit one of our 5 Scan & Go sites to pick up an intake packet: cPort Credit Union branches on Forest Ave, Riverside Industrial Parkway, and Middle Street in Portland and on Route 1 in Scarborough (Scan & Go hours: Tuesday - Thursday, 9am-5pm) or the Portland Housing Authority Sagamore Village site, 21 Popham Street in Portland (Tuesdays, 9am-4pm and Thursdays, 9-4pm). Portland Housing Authority on Riverton Park (Monday - Friday 9am-4pm) Return to a Scan & Go site during their designated hours to have your intake paperwork, identification, and tax documents scanned into our virtual system. You'll then receive two phone calls with our IRS-certified volunteer tax preparers as they prepare and double-check your return from their home or workplace. Before we e-file your return, you will need to review and sign off on it (digitally or by returning to the Scan & Go site).
